Lyndey Milan’s Seven Steps To A Perfectly Cooked Steak

Whether you like it rare, medium or well-done, follow these basic rules when cooking steak and you’ll be onto a winner – every time. Here, we go inside Lyndey Milan’s kitchen to discover her seven steps to cooking the perfect steak.

Besides using with a well-heated pan, Lyndey explains why it’s important to season the meat at the very last moment before you cook it. And did you know you should put the oil on the steak – rather than the pan? And cook it with the fat on, it will help keep the meat tender. So, those are the Dos when cooking steak. What are the Don’ts? Yep, you guessed it – don’t be tempted to turn it over more than once, that will make it tough, and don’t cut into it before it’s rested. If you want to know why all these steps are important, take a look at this short video.

But if all that’s not enough, this Aussie cook has a fail-safe method of determining whether your steak’s ready, while it’s still in the pan – press ‘play’ to learn that trick too.
Bon appetite!
