Makes 2 cocktails
INGREDIENTS
6 fresh strawberries
2 teaspoons sugar
4 shots gin
1 teaspoon rose water
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup soda water (or to taste)
EQUIPMENT
2 Cocktail glasses
Cocktail shaker
Saucer of white sugar (used to coat rims of glasses)
Method
1 Moisten rim of glasses with water then dip glasses upside down into the saucer of sugar to coat each rim.
2 Wash and de-stem 4 of the strawberries, reserve 2 for garnishing.
3 Next, dice the strawberries into small pieces (approximately 12 pieces per strawberry).
4 Sprinkle the sugar over the top of the diced strawberries. Let them sit for 5 minutes. Then, lightly mash the strawberries with a fork to release their juices.
5 Fill shaker with some ice cubes, the strawberry mixture, gin, rose water and a pinch of salt. Shake.
6 Divide cocktail evenly between two glasses.
7 Top each glass off with club soda (to taste).
8 Garnish with remaining strawberries, serve chilled and enjoy.
