Christmas Protein Truffles That Are Actually Healthy

Eating healthy at Christmas doesn’t always feel possible, but with a few clever tweaks you can put a healthy twist on your favourite festive treats.

Dietitian Kate Save knows the tricks to make healthy meals taste great, and offers up some Christmas recipes including family friendly favourites and delicious desserts to have you eating well without over doing it this silly season.

These guilt-free treats are inspired by the science behind Be Fit Food meals that are high in protein and low in carbs and added sugar to support healthy weight loss.

Ingredients:

3 cups of wholegrain oats

3 Tbsp raw cacao

1 & 1/2 cup of natural nut butter

½ cup of vanilla or chocolate protein powder

½  a cup of shredded coconut

3 Tbsp of sunflower seeds

2 teaspoons of Natvia

5-6 tablespoons of water

Method:

  1. Blend ingredients in food processor until smooth
  2. Roll into balls and roll in desiccated or shredded coconut
  3. Set in the fridge until firm

Approximately 15 servings
