We recently had the pleasure of trialling the new LUMA Beauty On the Glow highlighters and were impressed by the gorgeous, non-sticky, weightless glow they leave on the skin. The innovative formula combines powdered pearl and gemstones in a hydrating base, for a wet-look product with all the longevity of a powder. The buildable formula slides like satin over cheekbones, eyelids and stays all day.

We sat down with editorial makeup artist Sarah Tammer on the hottest trends of the moment, what it was like working on the LUMA Beauty campaign and how we can achieve glowing skin this winter.

What are the hottest beauty trends you’re noticing at the moment and how can we achieve them?

We’re seeing more colour and bolder make up looks at the moment.

It’s exciting to see some of the artistry and experimentation that is going into these looks. Colour on the lids in particular has been super popular as it’s an easy way to make eyes pop. A simple wash of colour over the lids can add a bit of drama to your everyday look. Otherwise, add a fuchsia or red lip and pair it with a clean glowing skin and minimal eye-makeup.

Sharp bold graphic wings are another look that’s trending at the moment a la Amy Winehouse you can experiment with this and go full tilt like Amy did or make it more subtle.

How was working with Jess on the Luma campaign? Can you share any on-set beauty secrets with us?

It’s always such a fun working with Jess and LUMA, we’re very fortunate to have worked with each other for many years no, it’s a very collaborative process which I LOVE!

Summer is winding down, how can we keep our glow going this Winter?

Preparation is key! LUMA is all about luminous, glowing skin so I love their products for creating a fresh look. The Brighten Up Beauty Serum is a powerhouse hydrator, while The Multi Purpose Balm is great for lips, cuticles and even glossy lids. I also like to use the Base Perfecting Priming Moisturiser under makeup, its really a moisturiser and primer in one.

The LUMA On the Glow highlighters are incredible and an easy way to add natural sheen.

My absolute FAVE is LUMA On The Glow in Cashmere Casbah ($29.95) for the top of the cheekbone inner corner of the eye and cupids bow, for fairer skins Wander Musk is a gorgeous pale rose gold and for deeper tones Blushed Nomad and Bronze Voyage. They even make gorgeous bases for eyeshadow!

Luma Beauty Products are available at Luma.com  and Priceline.
