Selena Gomez’s Golden Globes hair was all old Hollywood glam – perfectly complementing her ice-blue Prada gown, glossy lips, and glitzy diamonds.
“Sofia Loren, Lauren Bacall, and Marilyn Monroe. These icons are the epitome of glamour, sophistication and chicness,” said hairstylist Renato Campora, when asked about the inspiration behind the pop princess, turned beauty-business-babe’s look.
And so, while a designer dress may be out of the budget, Renato does have a tip or two on how he used a range of GHD products to recreate Selena’s hair at home.
Four simple steps to get a red carpet ready ‘do
1. First, section the hair into 2-inch parts to blow dry hair with ghd’s Natural
Bristle Round Brush ($40) and ghd’s Helios Hair Dryer ($279). Blow dry the
front left section upwards and backwards, then side part upwards and
forward.
2. Following this, divide hair into 2-inch horizontal sections, then take 1-inch vertical section and curl with ghd’s Curve Classic Curl Iron($209). Curl and pin through the back and right front side.
3. For the left front section, use ghd’s Curve Classic Curl Iron($209)for the bottom
and ghd’s Curve Soft Curl Iron ($209) for the top, curling forward and pinning. By
using two different size irons allows top section to lay beautifully on the tighter
bottom waves.
4. Finally, allow the hair to cool for 15 minutes before removing the pins and brush
through with ghd’s Dresser Oval Dressing Brush ($40) for a smooth, voluminous
finish.
