Here, we take a look at the top five divas who stunned on the Met Gala red carpet…
Beyonce

Queen Bey has the regal prefix for a reason, for many, she is the undoubted Queen of the pop world. Always leaving us to pick up our jaws from the floor, this Met Gala look is another stunning rendition form the talented songstress. a Riccardo Tisci creation, the latex Givenchy gown is anything but tacky. In a shade of sherbet and covered from neck to floor, the stunning frock is subtly adorned with hand-painted poppies and embellished with pops of pearl. It’s all about that shape though, with perfectly puffed-up shoulders that balance out her curvy derriere, its silhouette is one of pin-up proportions. Hair is sleek and almost-waist-length, with a focus on eyes, coated in lashings of black-blue around both top and bottom lids. As usual, the Queen slay slay slays.
Taylor Swift

Tay Tay forgo that classic red thing lip we like and rocked a deep wine coloured lip, almost as if her lips had been stained with a full-bodied Bordeaux. The strong lip was offset with barely-there eyes, and even barer complexion, favouring milky skin over bronze. Her hair, (which has come under the beauty-scope of late for it’s colour change, from golden yellow to bleached white-wash blonde) was shaggy, unkempt and with towel-dried vibes; a brave beauty look for the pop diva. Fashion wise, her gaudy snakeskin mini dress care of Louis Vuitton was much talked-about, with plenty of haters gathering their armour. Her long, lithe pins were wrapped to the knee in thick gladiator-esque heels, all in all, an unusually gothic look for the typically tame Tay Tay.
Lady Gaga

Leave it to Lady Gaga to shock and perturb the masses, and whilst this Met Gala garb is no exception, it’s not as outlandish as what we’ve come to expect from the wildly eccentric diva. The musical genius loves to jar the common concord, and this Versace outfit will most definitely ruffle a few (conservative) feathers. Always Avant-Garde-esque – it was all about her synonymous pant-less look, with pins covered only by fishnet stockings, whilst the crystal-encrusted leotard with peek-a-boo bust line was paired with a futuristic cropped jacket. Coated in sparkling sequins and with cut-away panels, the power shoulders mean business. Her peroxide blonde hair is quiffed, high and texturised, with a slick of orange-red lip, dark prominent brows and big fake lashes complete the high-octane beauty look. For a night that applauds the totally outrageous; Lady Gaga gets a standing ovation.
Kim Kardashian

Whilst this diva isn’t of the songstress variety, she is perhaps the most diva-like of them all. With the circus that surrounds the Kardashian / Jenner clan, Kim K is their Queen Bee, and when she commands attention, she gets it. Once again showing her loyalty to friend Olivier Rousteing, Kim donned Balmain for this year’s Met Gala. Clad in super sparkly silver sequins, the long-sleeved dress was as gaudy as ever, almost armour-like at the bust and with a thigh-high split on one side; it was classic Kimmy K. As always, her face was contoured and highlighted, with a nude lip, dramatic black eyes and interestingly, light brows – which gave her beauty a rather high-fashion edge. Hair was out, but gelled at the roots and full of height. An ensemble that certainly reflected the tech themed night, once again Kim dazzled (literally) under the bright lights.
