Burt’s Bee lip balm has a little bit of cult following, as it’s super moisturizing with great fruity flavours.
The lip balm range is available in a range of flavours, including watermelon, cucumber mint, wild cherry, strawberry, coconut and pear, pink grapefruit, mango, pomegranate, acai berry, honey and beeswax. All of these are tint free with a matte finish. Look out for the tinted range for a hint of colour and eight hours of moisture.
I tested out a couple of the summer flavours:
- Pink grapefruit – sweet citrusy and fruity
- Pomegranate – pleasant and likeable taste
- Sweet mandarin – fresh and citrusy
- Watermelon – sweet smooth melon taste with hydrating coconut oil
I like the mandarin the best, but I’m keen to try out the cucumber mint, and all of the berry flavours: Acai berry, strawberry, and wild cherry.
If you prefer an unscented neutral lip balm then look out for the all-weather SPF 15 moisturizing lip balm and the ultra-conditioning lip balm (packed with rich kokum, shea and cocoa butter).
The beeswax lip balm is one of the more popular Burt’s Bees products as it is packed with Beeswax to condition skin and antioxidant Vitamin E to soften lips. It has a matte finish and a slight hint of Peppermint Oil.
Just apply any of the lip balms liberally to your lips and as often as needed. They are a great product to use particularly in dry, cold or windy conditions.
The lid has a safety sticker that’s easy to peel off. I like the packaging – it comes in a simple cardboard box that can be recycled easily. The tube Is made with 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and recyclable through teracycle.
The lip balms are formulated without parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS.
Burt’s Bees are made in the USA. The company values ingredients from nature, no animal testing, responsible sourcing and recyclable carton.
The Burt’s Bees lip balms are RRP $6.95 and available at pharmacies and supermarkets.
