The French house fashion house that popularised tweed suits, flap bags and little black dresses, has supported Margot Robbie‘s red-carpet appearance for over half a decade. In fact, the Barbie babe was named Ambassador of the House in March 2018. However, the relationship has since taken a special spin (a scent-sational one, if you will). With the Wolf of Wall Street alumni recently named the face of the iconic Chanel No. 5 fragrance.

News of the partnership – rivalled only by the excitement of Margot’s (unconfirmed) pregnancy – was revealed last week. With the announcement marking a new milestone for both the luxury brand and the Academy-nominated, former Neighbours actress – who also expressed her joy about joining the legacy of one of the world’s most prestigious fragrances.

“It’s incredible to be a part of it,” she said, referring to the renowned brand, which has included celebrated women like Marilyn Monroe, and Catherine Deneuve, alongside modern muses such as Keira Knightley.

“There’s such an impressive lineage of women who’ve been associated with the fragrance over the years,” Margot added. “And, I am very honored to be joining that long list of incredible talents.”

Chanel echoed Margot’s sentiments in their official statement. Praising her not only for her acting prowess but also for her work behind the scenes as a producer. The brand described her as “a woman who has decided to create the conditions for her own accomplishments.” And, highlighted Margot’s dedication to telling stories that spotlight strong female figures.

As Chanel so succinctly put the sentiment felt by many of Margot’s fans, “Her aura is irresistible. Her charisma, both powerful and serene, resonates in every way with the unique character of the iconic No. 5.”
