Twist It Up With These New Beauty Buys

For Eyes

Hate how compacts fit awkwardly inside your makeup bag or purse? Bobbi Brown’s new eyeshadows come in the form of a twist-up pen, and are so creamy and easy to use, you could do it with your eyes closed. They come in an array of shades to suit all eye colours too; from beiges and browns for amber eyes, to golds and (interestingly) glittery forest green for aqua-hued peepers. Try Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick, $44 each

For Brows

As a hybrid of wax, pencil and coloured powder, this wind-up product will thicken and sculpt your brows subtly. Tame the hairs by sweeping the colour towards the centre of your brows, again away from your face, and finish by brushing the hairs out with the spool. Try Youngblood Brow Artiste Sculpting Pencil, $39.95

For Face

NudeSTIX is a brand now available at Sephora that only sells makeup in pencil form, and they’ve absolutely perfected the right concealer formula. It’s velvety and just the right weight that sits on your skin for hours. There’s no excuse not to touch up if you need to though; there’s a sharpener cleverly incorporated into the design of the lid so you’ll never have to fumble clumsily for one ever again. Try NudeSTIX Concealer, $31 (Available from Sephora)

For Cheeks

Contouring doesn’t get any easier than this. Clinique’s new Chubby Sticks now come in three different shades for the face: there’s light pink for pale skintones, gold for warm skintones, and chocolatey brown for both. To use, pop the lighter shade over cheekbones and under the brow bone and blend into foundation with fingers, then follow with the darker colour and repeat. Go on, give Gisele a run for her money. Try Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight and Contour, $42 each

For Lips

If you find matte lipsticks too drying to use, then these jumbo-sized lip pencils might come in handy. These ones from Maybelline are highly pigmented and the sharp point makes lining and colouring your lips a cinch. Pick from berry shades, to bright pinks to subtle mauves – collect them all now. Try Maybelline NY Color Drama Lipstick, $9.95
