Sharon’s how-to

First I’m going to start with the eyes – I’m starting off with Maybelline NY Master Smoky Pencil in Smouldering Violet, and I’m just lining the whole way around my eyes. Then I’m going to use the smudgy tool to soften the line. These set very quickly, so you’ll want to do one eye at a time.

Next, I’m taking that pencil and I’m going to draw a flick at the end of my eye, extending past the outer corner and joining it up with my lower lashline. Then I’m taking a soft fluffy brush to soften it out.

I’m using Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover to clean the outside corner… I brought the flick up a little too far so I’m just using it to take it down a notch.

Just going back to the pencil again, and using fluffy brush to re-smudge it again…

And you’re done… so easy!

So next I’m going to use this Maybelline eyeshadow quad and I’m going to start with the cranberry colour with an eyeshadow brush, and I’m going to blend it over the pencil, all over the eyelid, but not too high into the crease.

Next, I’m taking that deeper matte brown colour and taking it just into the crease, but not too high… just on the outside corner. And then I’m going to use the lightest colour and I’m going to take it all the way up to the brow bone.

Then I’m going to take some more of the remover and I’m going to clean up the under-eye area with any eyeshadow that may have fallen.

 Moving onto the foundation, today I’m using Covergirl’s foundation and I’m putting some on the back of my hand, and then using a buffing brush to buff a light layer all over the face. I love this foundation; I think it’s got great coverage. Then I’m taking some of the concealer and running that under my eye. I find that when I have a smokey eye, I really need to make sure my under-eye area is well concealed, especially if it’s got that violet undertone.

Next, to add some colour to the skin, I’m taking L’Oreal’s Glam Bronze Duo and I’m using a soft fluffy brush and I’m going to take it quite far forward on my cheeks, and I’m going to take it around my face and around my forehead. Then I’m going into the highlight side and with a much smaller brush, I’m going to go over my cheekbones.

 Now I’m going to use L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Kit and I’m going to softly fill in my brows.

Finally, I’m going to use Rimmel’s mascara, which smells like cucumber, and popping loads of that on the top and bottom lashes.

And to finish the makeup I’m going to use a Revlon lipstick and use my finger to soften it all over my lips.

Lastly, I’m going to give myself some rock and roll texture and mussed up hair, so I’m using VO5’s Texturising Powder and peppering it through my roots and just scrunching it up.

Iantha’s how-to

For my look, I’ll also start my look with the eyes. First, I’ll do a once-over with an eye shadow from Maybelline. I like using an eyeshadow brush and just patting the colour onto my eyelids – it gives a much stronger colour.

Next, I’ll go over the top lashline with a soft smoky pencil, such as the kohl liner from Maybelline. I like to mimic the winged eyeliner look because it gives my smaller eyes a nice lift. Priceline Pharmacy’s Makeup Director Rae Morris gave me some great advice – and she recommends that you go outwards with eyeliner, rather than upwards. Use a brush or the sponge-tip to smudge the line. Clean up around the eyes with some makeup remover if you need.

Follow with lots of mascara. Then, clean around the eyes with some cotton tips.

Next, follow with this base from Covergirl, and touch up with a concealer. I like to use my hands and fingers for this because it warms up the foundation and gives it a really nice lived in look. When I don’t have a matching concealer, I just dab some extra foundation over any spots I have and lightly powder over the top to make it stay in place.

I always have trouble matching my foundation to my skintone, but I recently found out that Priceline has an in-store foundation finder, which literally scans your face and tells you which foundation brand and product is best for you.

Next, add some falsies – these ones from Ardell are my favourite.

Bronzer is one of my favourite products – it gives you just a hint of definition. Use a large fluffy brush and sweep it under your cheekbones, and around your forehead like this. The one from L’Oreal has the tiniest flecks of sparkle, which go really nicely with a dewy face.

Finish with a nude-pink lippie. The one from Revlon works really well.

Give your hair some oomph with a texturising powder from VO5. I like to sprinkle some in my hands, rub them together, then use my fingers to mess it up.

I can totally imagine myself wearing this on a night out. Whitney Port was saying at the Festival of Beauty, that you can just throw on a party dress, or something classic in black with this look.
