Not only is Sylvie’s personal story remarkable, she has an incredible range of products. The Carousel team particularly love her nude lipsticks and there is a fabulous nail polish colour range to choose from.

How did you get started with Scout Cosmetics? What inspired you to create the brand and why?

My foray into the world of beauty in 2010 was deeply driven by both a love of natural cosmetics along with an inability to find quality Australian-made organic beauty products when I was working as a flight attendant at Ansett over ten years ago.

I noticed at the time that many of the natural brands that were available were either from overseas (primarily the US) or did not offer the efficacy, quality and colour I desired.

With my passion for developing holistic therapies and aromatherapy oils, I was then inspired to create a luxurious home-grown natural beauty brand – thus Scout Cosmetics was born.

I became more passionate about growing the brand whilst undergoing treatment for Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2013, shortly after the launch of the Scout Cosmetics makeup line three years earlier.

Following a series of lengthy chemotherapy sessions, I immediately noticed the effect treatment was having my skin and nails and wanted to develop a non-toxic nail polish offering that would be both stylish and healthier for everyday wear.

My Breathable 5 Free nail polish line is now one of the most successful SKUS in the range.

Sylvie Hutchings Beauty Tips: How to create the perfect nude makeup look

For the ‘no-makeup makeup look’ that is quick and easy to apply, you will need to use light powders and flesh toned eye and lip products. Check out our range here from Scout Cosmetics.

This season it’s all about getting a glowing visage with minimal effort required using products that are nasty-free and won’t clog your pores during sweaty summer days.

Start by perfecting your base with a light moisturiser (I recommend Scout Cosmetics Balance and Replenish Light Moisturiser) followed by Scout cosmetics Mineral Pressed Powder.

Sweep a light pink blush on the high planes of your face and pair a bright and clear complexion with a pale pink eye, nude lip and luscious lashes for the ultimate on-trend day and night makeup look.
