It’s all smiles in Tinsel Town when Awards Night comes around. But have you ever wondered how Hollywood stars prepare to shine for their fans and paparazzi as they walk the red carpet? Well wonder no more!
It’s their big chance to get noticed, so when it comes to appearing on any red carpet, it’s not just a case of LA’s A-listers’ hair, makeup and outfits being perfect – their smile has to live up to the occasion as well. Getting that professional ‘red-carpet-ready’ look at home is easy using our Beauty Editor, Glenn Nutley’s advice – after all, he styles some of LA’s hottest talent.
Here he talks us through how it’s done in the days leading up to an Awards Night – and it all starts with the use of new tooth whitening technology which you apply at home (and with results the very first day!).
Glenn: Awards excitement is building here in L-A. It’s the night when Hollywood’s T-V stars hope they’ll be the one to get a gong. But long before any statues are given out, the focus is on the nominees’ red carpet looks and – with so many cameras around – everyone’s aim is to out-shine the rest. I’m here to reveal the insider tricks on exactly how A-listers get red-carpet ready – and how you can do them at home!
First up – to flash Award-winning smiles through the Awards Ceremony, they need to work on getting their teeth shiny and white .
A great way to effortlessly achieve a bright white smile at home is to incorporate a whitening toothpaste, rinse and whitening strips as part of your everyday beauty routine.
I absolutely love the new Oral-B 3D Whitestrips. These have a cult following in Hollywood and can remove up to 10 years of stains in as little as 14 days.
But if you’re short on time for your big night, don’t worry, you’ll get visible results after the very first day of using them. You can even apply them whilst doing your hair or make up in the lead up to your special event.
The next step takes place the night before. And it’s all about a heavier night cream that will give you super-charged results in the morning.
And applying an illuminator under the eye area on the morning of the event will brighten the eyes throughout the day and well into the night.
Add a touch to the cupids bow.
And importantly, moisturising thoroughly on the day will keep that glow lasting throughout the event
And last but not least in the build-up to T-V’s most exciting night of the year every celebrity knows the makeup has to be paparazzi-ready.
The current trend for the eyes is a stunning gloss-effect and of course you want to set off that sparkling white smile with lipstick and gloss to match.
Always choose a lipstick colour that pops with your skin tone to enhance your bright smile. This could be a bright pink pop or a blue based lipstick.
Follow these tips to get your very own Award-winning-look on your next night-of-nights.
