What Are Micellar Cleansing Waters?

Hang on, it’s not like there’s a right way or a wrong way to cleanse your face… is there? Er, technically, yes. Well, more specifically, there’s definitely a more effective way to cleanse your face where you’re getting a better result for less effort (my kind of idea of doing anything really!).

The whole idea of a cleansing and moisturising routine is to clear skin of oil and make-up, leave it feeling refreshed and supple, less prone to blemishes and more ready to tackle anti-aging. Take this quick quiz to see if you’re on the right track.

1. Do you cleanse daily? Yes / No

2. Do you double cleanse? Yes / No

3. Do you use a toner? Yes/ No

4. Do you use a moisturiser? Yes/ No

5. Do you use a daily, gentle exfoliant? Yes / No

If you answered mostly no, you might be excited to learn that:

1 Skincare shouldn’t feel like you need a degree to use it

The folks at Clinique believe in making complex things simple. Their range is full of easy solutions that won’t break the bank and do exactly what you need them to do. Cleansing with their new Foaming Sonic Facial Soap is super easy. Splash face with water. Rub a small amount of cleansing foam onto your face. Pick up their super amazing, brand spanking new technology driven sonic cleansing brush. Go to point 2.

2 Brushes do it better

The Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush is quite possibly the best cleansing brush ever created because it’s soft, not like some of the sonic brushes which can sometimes feel like you’re brushing actual skin off. It works in two ways: firstly, the bristles which are angled and can get in hard to reach nooks and crannies of the face, second, the sonic technology deep cleans without actually scrubbing your skin’s surface. It’s so soft, but so effective. There is no better clean. It gets into pores and clears out debris, leaving skin beautifully glowing. Use it once and you’ll be addicted. That’s all it takes. Sorry about that, but it’s such a good thing to be addicted to!

Why is it a 3 step thing?

I’ve never been a fan of toner. There was just no real purpose to it. Years as beauty editor and the best response I could get was, “it finishes off your cleansing.” Um, shouldn’t cleansing finish your cleansing? But Clinique Clarifying Lotion is no toner. It has purpose. It has properties. You see, it’s actually a gentle exfoliant. It clears dead cells daily, leaving skin smooth and radiant. Oily skin is less oily, dry skin is less dry. That’s why it’s a 3-step program folks. This toner will, quite possible, change your life. Or at least your skin, as you know it.

4 Skin drink

Just as there are different ways to condition your hair, there are different ways to condition your skin. A moisturiser that is actually programmed to your skin type will help leave it in the best condition possible. Moisturised, soft, supple, healthy and glowing. It’s the final step in this very simple puzzle that will see you on your way to great skin which looks and feels amazing.
