Get Adele’s Fabulous New Look With These Simple Hacks

Adele is certainly the woman of the moment. The 33-year-old singer appeared on a recent UK Vogue cover and her Audience with Adele show aired to millions around the world and then there’s her new album 30 which has shot to number one and overtaken Abba to become the fastest selling album of the year.

Nor surprisingly, the star’s fabulous new look, particularly her stand-out eye makeup, is currently trending on Google search.

Here’s how you can recreate her flawless skin and winged eye look with tips from British makeup artist Pat McGrath who created the singer’s new look for her Vogue cover shoot using her own range of makeup.

She used the matte rose shade Secret Eden in the crease of Adele’s eye, with dark burgundy Xtreme Plum Noir blended in the outer corner of the crease for depth and on the lower lashline for a smudged smokey effect.

For the metallic shine in the centre of Adele’s eye, Pat used shimmering rose gold Astral Venusian Orchid, creating a high-impact metallic sheen. From the same palette, Pat used nude Skinshow Nude Xtasy as a highlight on Adele’s brow bone and inner corner of the eye for a touch of luminosity.

Adele is known for a statement winged eyeliner and for the Vogue cover, Pat used her pencil liner from the root of the lashline to map out the shape of the wing, then used a brush to blend the line into the desired shape.

Here’s how Pat MGrath described her technique.

“Dampen a pointed cotton bud with makeup remover to correct any mistakes and cleanup the outer corner of the wing. For a lifted effect, ensure the lower part of the wing is in line with the outer corner of the eye, extending upward to create the wing shape.

“I used DarkStar Mascara to intensify Adele’s lashes.”

She also swapped her trademark red lips for a subtle nude. Pat then used Matt Trace Lipstick, PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil from the outer edge of the lips, blending towards the centre to add depth to the colour.

For Adele’s flawless base, Pat used her own foundation but you could swap this for the L’Oreal true match foundation.

Interestingly, in Adele’s  recent “73 Questions” video (below) with Vogue, the singer named Pat McGrath’s Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner  as her “favourite eyeliner.” She also said Cate Blanchett was her favourite fashion icon and said “the best advice I ever got was to keep your heart soft and your music dangerous.’
