Red Carpet Looks From The Critics’ Choice Awards

Jennifer Aniston

Wearing: A grey Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane slip dress with Jimmy Choo heels and Anita Ko jewellery.

What We Love

The Shape: Jen’s figure looks absolutely stunning in this silvery grey gown. The industry veteran knows how to play to her strengths with the tightly fitted full-length form fitting dress. If we had Jen’s body we would also wear such a thin fabric number with confidence.

The Makeup: Jen’s smoky eyes compliment her piercing baby blues perfectly. A nude lip balances out the dark eyes, keeping her looking fresh, young and not overly made up.

The Accessories: Minimal, elegant and classic. Jen has absolutely nailed her jewellery and shoe choices. If only the design of the dress was a little bit more of a stand out…

What We Don’t Love

The Slit: Take note, if you want to pull of a leg slit, having it at the very front of your dress is not the way to do it. This awkward position is basically asking for a wardrobe malfunction, keep it to the side ladies. Leg slits are ideally a subtle and sexy way to show some skin, but it looks like Jen hasn’t found the right blend of modesty and seduction.

The Colour: The grey is pretty no doubt, but a little bit meek for us. Jen could definitely go for something with a little more pizazz to make her shine on the red carpet.

Kirsten Dunst

Wearing: A tiered Chanel Haute Couture shift with sparkling overlays, vintage Fred Leighton diamonds and satin heels.

What We Love

The Inspiration: Kirsten rocks the 1920’s flapper look. We love that she channels her inner Gatsby with a modern spin.

The Makeup: Kirtsen’s deep red lip is not only historically on trend but is also a classic temptress look that is to die for.

The Hair: Kirsten’s blond ‘lob (long bob)’ is perfection for her heart shaped face. The lighter shade of blond suits her skin tone and is magic when paired with those gorgeous lips.

What We Don’t Love

The Ensemble: Between the layers, differences in materials, the colours and the bejeweling, there is just too much going on for us.

The Shoe: The gold satin shoe does not do Kirsten any favours with this look. A much more understated, basic shoe would have gone down much better considering the excitement of the dress.

Rating: 8.5/10

Zoe Kravitz

Wearing: A Dior Haute Couture two-tone pants, Dior clutch, Dior Fine Jewellery earrings and ring, and crystal-studded Sophia Webster sandals.

What We Love

The Actress: We love Zoe, she is so cool and so hot at the moment. Shame that we can’t say the same for her outfit.

The Ensemble: Go Zoe! She proves that pants can look just as chic and feminine on The Red Carpet as a dress.

The Shoe: The heels are a real highlight for this outfit. The silver shoe is Hollywood glamour at it’s best.

What We Don’t Love

The Colour: The bright peach really does look good with Zoe’s skin tone and black hair, but the two different fluro tones, which are so similar, is definitely not so appealing to the eye.

The Earrings: Bulky and over the top, jewels should compliment an outfit, not over power it. She should have chosen a simple diamond or perhaps a pearl stud instead.

Rating: 5/10

Rachel McAdams

Wearing: A burgundy embroidered Elie Saab gown and Graziela Gems earrings.

What We Love

Everything!

This outfit is almost impossible to fault.

Not only is Rachel thriving in her career, but also she is looking (and dressing) better than ever. Her new blond locks, the deep burgundy dress that teases with a touch of transparency, plus her bold red lip have cemented her as the absolute favourite for the evening. Well-done, Miss Adams!
