The who’s who of celebrities and Australia’s fashion elite kicked off the much-anticipated 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival in Sydney with a very fashionable ‘bang’.

Sydney’s iconic Town Hall was the beautiful venue for a stunning showcase of Australian Style featuring a snapshot of each of the designers showing at this year’s MBFF. Vibrant colour palettes for the new spring/summer season were awash with fiery oranges, sulphuric yellows, turquoise blues and pillar box reds.

Patterns and textures featured heavily as Aussie designers showed their love of playful finishes while lace, beading and sequins brought some bling to the catwalk. Structure, thigh-high-splits and separates will be a popular theme this season along with the more wearable neutral and tonal hues. The biggest summer trend to try this year is white-on-white.

Celebrities amongst the fashion-loving public and media included Zac and Jordan Stenmark, Kate Peck, Michelle Bridges, Erin Holland, Lindy Klim and Imogen Anthony.
