Paris Fashion Week is never anything short of opulent and theatrical. Read on for our 3 favourite moments that made our eyes pop and jaws drop.
Valentino
Well of course it made sense for Zoolander stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson to close the show for Valentino. The pair dramatically strutted down the runway simultaneously to the tune Don’t You Want Me by the Human League in oversized coats and satiny ensembles underneath. Zoolander 2 is set for release in the US in February next year.
Chanel
This time last year, Karl Lagerfeld delivered his show in the setup of a luxurious supermarket, complete with ordinary items such as cereal and soda labelled with the luxe brand. This year, Chanel upped the ante with a beautiful setup of a French brasserie, complete with red booths, a gold bar and bar stools, which doubled as a runway and guest refreshment stand. Models walked around the setup and lingered at the bar or sat in the booths as they finished their walk.
Givenchy
“Victorian-chola girl” was how Riccardo Tisci envisioned the look of the models that went down his runway recently at Givenchy. Each girl was adorned with an almost-comical facefull of large gems, over-the-top septum piercings, several drop-earrings and oil-slicked hair to frame the face.
