There’s nothing more special than a Chanel couture show at the Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week.
Guests included It Girls Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart (with a new short haircut, very 80s pop star) and Emma Watson (who contrarily has now grown her hair out past her shoulders). In a coup for Southern Hemisphere gals, King Karl Lagerfeld chose none other than a New Zealand model, Ashleigh Good, to close the show as the bride in the finale.
The clothes were very much traditionally in line with Chanel’s signature aesthetic, and included long-line jackets over slightly flared skirts, and shorter style jackets to focus on a cinched in waist with a-line skirts. Cream, lilac and tweed were the hero fabrics, while brocade, jewelled embellishment, lace and metallic detailing all made an appearance. Always beautiful and always wearable, the outfits were surprisingly finished off with flat sandals (some might even call them thongs!) featuring a huge ankle bow.
