Victorian gal Brittany Beattie, aged 20, stole the show last night and took to the stage in a stunning floor-length, fluorescent orange Toni Maticevski gown.
Along with a one-year modelling contract with IMG Sydney, she’s also bagged a $20,000 prize from TRESemmé, the opportunity to be part of New York Fashion Week and a brand new Mazda 2 Genki.
Keep your eyes peeled – she’ll also appear in a cover shoot for the August issue of Elle Australia.
Despite having zero experience with photoshoots or even walking in heels, Brittany was one contestant that scored solid marks every episode.
“When you’ve got someone pushing you so hard, along with incredible hair, makeup and clothing, it’s easy to feel confident when they make you look like that,” says Beattie. “When you’re under pressure as well, you just have to push yourself through it.”
“The scariest moment of the series was probably when I first started and had to get my head around everything,” Beattie continues. “It was a lot to take everything in, and it all sunk in when I realised what we had to be doing every week.”
But it didn’t take Brittany long to warm up; she scored top marks in episode three when the girls had to style themselves for the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition in Melbourne, and model in couture gowns for a photoshoot. Not only did Brittany win the challenge that week, but she also had the top score.
“The best thing was definitely meeting designer Jean Paul Gaultier, and when he asked me to go to Paris to walk for his show,” says Beattie.
