Best Emmy Instagrams, THAT Kiss, Billy Crystal's Touching Tribute To Robin Williams

As host Seth Meyers played it relatively safe for the 66th annual Emmy Awards, celebrities were busy snapping selfies on the red carpet and behind the scenes of the industry’s night of nights. Winners were somewhat expected, but there were a couple of starring (and unexpected!) performances along the way that caused a stir…

Many of the winners on the night were as expected; Breaking Bad took the gong for several Emmys, Modern Family won Best Comedy Category for its fifth year in a row, Julia Louis Dreyfus took the trophy for Best Comedy Actress, but unexpectedly stopped on the way up to collect her award re-create their Seinfeld kiss with Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, who also took out most Outstanding Actor in a Drama, while The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies, “The Good Wife took out Outstanding Actress in a Drama. The biggest upset for this night was popular series Orange Is The New Black going home empty handed.

The most touching moment of the night was without doubt the tribute for Robin Williams, introduced by his brilliant friend Billy Crystal. In a powerful and emotionally-loaded speech, Crystal said of the late comedian, “He made us laugh, hard. He could be funny anywhere. As genius as he was on stage, he was the greatest friend you could ever imagine: supportive, protective, loving. It’s very hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present, in all of our lives. For almost 40 years he was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy.”
