H&M announced the collaboration by uploading the picture on Instagram, calling Caitlyn ‘strong and beautiful’.
As the face of H&M’s new athleisure line, Caitlyn is the second Jenner to front a H&M campaign, daughter Kendall featured in their Balmain collaboration shoot last year.
(Just to clear up the meaning of ‘athleisure’, it’s not hardcore apparel for gym junkies, it’s clothing made for any busy bodies that enjoy wearing pieces that are sporty and comfortable.)
“We have picked Caitlyn Jenner, one of the world’s most celebrated athletes, as part of this H&M Sports campaign because we want to illustrate that everything is possible – in sports, and in life,” said a H&M representative.
As a former Olympian and transgender activist, scoring Caitlyn as a H&M ambassador is a great success.
Almost a year ago, Caitlyn – formerly Bruce – made world headlines by announcing her transgender change in an interview with Diane Sawyer that drew 17 million viewers.
This was followed by a Vanity Fair cover shoot with celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
