Thespians, models and all-round Hollywood heavyweights gathered to honour musical theatre’s finest, with frivolous frocks and shiny jewels on display in typical red carpet fashion.
Break a fashionable leg; here are our top six looks from the Tony Awards’ Red Carpet…
Lupita Nyong’o
Actress Lupita Nyong’o was a standout, dazzling in Boss and Tiffany & Co. jewels. The off-the-shoulder gown was spectacularly speckled with flecks of navy, citron, watermelon and white, which hugged her beautiful hourglass shape. Whilst on fingers and lobes, orange-tinted diamonds dazzled under the bright lights.
Renee Elise Goldsberry
Winner Renee Elise Goldsberry was a fashionable dream in Peter Copping for Oscar de la Renta. Just like her performance, the sunflower yellow gown was a knock-out; embellished with bold black flowers that floated down the frock with sartorial perfection. The magic of Oscar de la Renta was well and truly captured in the gown of the night.
Karolina Kurkova
Supermodel Karolina Kurkova opted for a brave fashion-forward look; donning an on-trend Coach 1941 bomber in gilded leather, embellished with sparkly Erickson Beamon brooches. The bedazzled bomber was paired with a simple slinky black Coach 1941 dress, which exposed one her notoriously lithe legs. Bag was also by Coach 1941, with jewels courtesy of Melissa Kaye.
Lucy Liu
Lemon was the flavour of the night; with actress Lucy Liu also opting for the hue in a Zuhair Murad Couture dress. An ode to old Hollywood, the halter-neck gown was cinched at the waist and fell in swathes of lemon chiffon. Embellished embroidery completed the beautiful creation, with ears dripping in Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Joudan Dunn
Model Jourdan Dunn stunned in a sateen tea rose Zac Posen gown, with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. The sculptural strapless frock was moulded within an inch of her flawless physique, as the cropped hemline at the front fanned out on either side, meeting in a glorious fountain of ruffles at the back.
Laura Benati
Beautiful actress Laura Benati opted for a colourful take on red carpet glamour, donning a magenta and navy Oscar de la Renta dress. The lacy gown was a wonderful hybrid of elegant and sexy; long-sleeved and covered from neck to toe, whilst peeps of skin were palpable through the colourful lace.
