The who’s who’s of Australia donned their best boater hats and loafers and descended upon the Mornington Peninsula for the Alfa Romeo Portsea Polo.
The Polo namesake, Alfa Romeo, boasted the biggest and brightest marquee of the day, hosting over 400 guests under the exclusive roof.
Honing in on the brand’s Italian heritage, the marquee was themed accordingly; red roses and lush vines, créme filled Cannolis and Spritzs’ aplenty, it was certainly a case of La Dolce Vita at Portsea’s Point Nepean.
Celeb guests included Anna Heinrich and Tim Robards, models Laura Dundovic, Brooke Hogan and Steph Claire Smith, WAGS Clementine McVeigh and Brit Davis, bloggers Carmen Hamilton of Chronicles of Her and Jasmin Howell of Friend in Fashion, and of course, Australian actress and Hollywood ‘it’ girl, Phoebe Tonkin.
Much like the Spring Racing Carnival, the focus quickly shifted from the horses to the frocks – with fashion taking centre stage, albeit a grassy one. Hats were straw, shoes were embellished, bags were micro, earrings were big, and white was the colour du jour. All in all, the fashion stakes were notably high and the ladies (and gents) looked fittingly fabulous.
