How To Create A Grecian Plait: The Hair Romance Series

Whether you’re going for Hollywood glam or Grecian Goddess, this elegant do will woo any admirer…

In this edited extract series, Christina Butcher, author of Hair Romance shows you step-by-step how to get the look. Happy Hair Days!

Inspired by classics from the silver screen, this beautiful braid pays tribute to the elegance and simplicity of the ancient Greeks. You’ll form this hairstyle by French braiding in a ring following your hairline, beginning at your right ear and braiding over your forehead, following your hairline until you run out of hair. Wear this braid in the sunshine—it’s perfect for picnics, the beach, festivals . . . and toga parties!

Difficulty level
Hard

Ideal hair length
Medium to long

Hair extensions needed?
No

Assistance needed?
Yes, but you can do this in your own hair with practice.

Accessories
This eye-catching braid doesn’t need any additional hair accessories, but focus on other items, such as earrings or a necklace, to complement your hair.

Try this
If your hair is very long, you can complete this look by winding the braid into a bun and pinning it at the back of your head. If you have shorter hair, keep the braid nearer your crown and you should be able to go full circle with the hair you have. This should also help the braid stay secure.
