Red-carpet ready and paparazzi-proof! That’s what’s needed from your makeup during the Awards season – and to top it all off, the look has to last all evening long too.

Awards Night Makeup Tutorial With Janel Parrish

Beauty Editor Glenn Nutley talks us through how it’s done while glamming up ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Janel Parrish for the most recent Teen Choice Awards. Kicking off with a very sheer foundation, Glenn touches up with a concealer on specific areas of Janel’s complexion which needed that tiny bit more coverage.

At different stages of the process he cleverly uses the same skin finishing powder as an eye-shadow and a contouring highlighter to create a touch of shimmer. A chocolate eyeliner gives that smoky effect both above and below the eye, followed by top tips on getting the lashes and brows perfectly presented while still looking natural. A touch of bronzer and setting powder and then no less than THREE different lipsticks to get the exact shade to set off Janel’s look – and she’s Award-night ready.

To find out exactly which products Glenn used and to see the results, take a look this short tutorial.  Enjoy!

Tips

  • Press an eyeshadow primer into the eyelids to give something for the shadow to stick to.
  • Push a dark eyeshadow into both the top and bottom lash line for a subtle smoky eye effect.
  • Place false eyelashes onto eyes with tweezers, and hold still for the glue to set.
