Beautiful Freckled Portraits Will Blow You Away

No one is better at capturing the true exquisiteness of the freckled face than British photographer Brock Elbank. Next year, he plans to kick off his Scars Portrait series again but we’re hoping he’ll also continue with his portrait series on beautiful freckled faces. With #Freckles, he successfully showcased the freckled portraits of 150 subjects of all different ages, nationalities and genders. The project started in 2016 and the results seen below are astounding.

Now, Brock has told his Instagram followers why he is fascinated by freckles.

“In the past I’ve been asked ‘why freckles?’ and I say that freckles are like fingerprints, no two faces of freckles are the same and this is what fascinates me,” he said on h Instagram.

I’ve always loved freckles,” Elbank said, “What I find interesting about individual characters that I have been fortunate enough to photograph is that many have struggled with their freckles since their infancy and either hated them or grown to live with them or even like them in adulthood.”

The idea struck Elbank whilst he was living in Sydney. He met his friend’s son Eddie whose face was full of the most freckles Elbank had ever seen. Thus the inception of #Freckles.

“Many of the subjects shot so far are such incredible-looking humans … amazing-looking individuals from all walks of life,” he said. “People really are the most incredible subjects to photograph.”

See for yourself how stunning these people are and you will never again want to cover up your own spots (you might even want to draw some on).

Or follow Elbank on Instagram or Tumblr.
