The 6 Key Beauty Products To Get The Woodstock Look

Spotted at countless Couture and Ready To Wear shows globally, gorgeously glowy skin is trending fast – and harder than ever.

“From flares to fringing, the 70s are having a major fashion moment,” says Priceline Pharmacy Makeup Director Rae Morris. “Channel iconic beauties like Bianca Jagger and Ali MacGraw with a sun-kissed glow and earthy metallics on your eyes and cheeks. Illuminator gives skin a healthy sheen while soft, tousled waves and barely-there lips give an “I woke up like this” feel.”

Modern day beauties such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Margot Robbie absolutely own this look every time they step out onto the red carpet. But just how do they do it?

Step 1 – Start with a dollop of primer – about the size of a 5 cent piece – and spread all over the face with your fingers.  Try L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer, $29.95

Step 2 – A dewy foundation is what you’ll need to achieve that lit-from-within glow. Using your fingers once again, warm a small amount (about the size of a pea) between your fingers, and press the liquid into your skin. The warmth of your fingers will help the product melt into your complexion, giving you that ‘au naturale’ look.  Try Savvy Mineral Glow Foundation, $9.99

Step 3 – The point of a highlighter is to draw light to special places on our face. Pump a tiny amount of highlighter onto your ring fingers (as it’s the most gentle finger) and tap onto cheekbones, and down the nose and over your cupid’s bow to accentuate each area. Try Australis Mineral Face Highlighter in Gold, $15.95

Step 4 – Bring attention to your peepers with a volumising mascara. I love this one from Maybelline, as there’s a big brush for your top lash line, and a much smaller one that’s suitable for your bottom lash line. Try Maybelline NY Volum’ Express Falsies Big Eyes Mascara, $9.97

Step 5 – Finish your barely-there look with some lipstick. Pick a nude shade that’s slightly darker than your natural lip colour. For some, this might even be a medium pink colour. Remember, the point of nude lipstick is to compliment your skin colour, not to wash it out.  Try Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick, $12.95

Step 6 – Don’t forget about your hair! Keep it casual with a spritz of sea salt spray. The beauty of this product is that you can use it on freshly-washed hair, or even day-old dry hair. Spray it directly onto your tresses, and use your fingers to muss up the look. Try Charles Worthington Style Setter Salt Spray, $15.99
