2025’s Final Supermoon in Gemini Brings Reflection, Connection and Possibly Holiday Stress!

The last supermoon of 2025 is set to shine in Gemini, and it won’t just be just lighting up the sky! We can expect heightened thoughts, restless mental energy and a strong push to reflect on the year as the festive season ramps up.

The alignment of the moon in Gemini opposite Sagittarius creates an intense urge to think, communicate and process emotions, often all at once.

Gemini is known for curiosity, quick wit and flashes of insight, but there are also two sides to this sign.

Thoughts can shift quickly, and the mind may feel busier than usual. During this full moon, you might notice racing thoughts or a stronger intuitive pull as old patterns from the past few months rise for clearing. Some people could even change their minds completely!

Because December’s full moon is a supermoon, it will appear larger and brighter because it is near its closest point to Earth. It is the final in a trio of supermoons for 2025 and marks the culmination of the year’s lunar cycle.

October, November and December have acted as emotional build-up months and whatever hasn’t been processed may now surface so it can be released.

This is a high-growth period. Issues that have been simmering beneath the surface may finally lift, but in a way that feels more mentally manageable.

Gemini is an air sign, so people may mull things over rather than react emotionally. Holiday gatherings might still feel stressful, but not as triggering as they could have been because many situations have already been mentally worked through.

The moon places strong emphasis on communication, relationships and internal dialogue – and full moons bring things to a head, especially in relationships. If something hasn’t been talked about or there are unspoken tensions, this moon may bring those issues into the open.

It is a powerful time to pause, release old patterns and set intentions for the new year. Even a short moment of quiet reflection can settle the mind and ease stress.

Relationships and social life also take centre stage under this supermoon. It offers a chance to clear misunderstandings and strengthen bonds, whether in romance, friendship or family.

For singles, Gemini’s energy encourages local socialising and spontaneous connection. It is not necessarily about forming a solid long-term relationship, but it is a great time for meeting people.

You might find yourself chatting to someone interesting at a Christmas market, a fireworks display or a community event in your local area.

In the northern hemisphere, December’s full moon is known as the Cold Moon to mark the onset of winter.

In Australia, its timing is significant because it arrives just weeks before the Summer Solstice on December 21st, the longest day of the year.

The moon encourages self-reflection, while the Solstice highlights growth and forward movement. Together they create a rare moment to reflect on the year, release what no longer serves you and consider what you want to bring into the next one.

Astrologically, mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are likely to feel the energy most strongly, along with air signs Libra and Aquarius.

The Cold Supermoon reaches its peak on Friday December 5th at 10.14am AEDT, although best viewing will be in the evening.
