This is What a Body Care Brand Launched by a Vogue Beauty Editor Looks Like

When it comes to skin care, the body has long played second fiddle. But Cecile “Cici” Stefanova, former British Vogue beauty editor and the mind behind Supernova Body, is rewriting the rules. For Cici, body care isn’t an afterthought – it deserves the same precision, formulation expertise, and editorially informed scrutiny as facial skin care. The result is a performance-led, luxe body brand that feels less like a beauty product and more like a ritual.

Supernova Body was born out of Cici’s personal battles with stubborn body acne and pigmentation, a frustration she found was all too common yet rarely addressed with sophistication. “I wanted bodycare that didn’t just smell nice or hydrate – it had to deliver visible results,” she explains. Her vision was clear: to create formulas that marry efficacy and sensorial pleasure, treating the body with the same devotion as a morning serum or eye cream.

The debut line reads like a curated edit from the beauty editor’s own toolkit. Smooth Operator, a tri-phase resurfacing scrub, layers chemical, enzymatic, and physical exfoliation with multi-enzymes, AHAs, and micronised rice polish – reviving dull skin without compromising the barrier. Power Play, a 2-in-1 clearing mask and polish, targets body breakouts with salicylic acid, kaolin, and colloidal sulphur, earning rave reviews from acne-prone users. Meanwhile, Soft Wash transforms the daily cleanse into a hydrating, fragrant ritual, blending gluconolactone, urea, and Pentavitin to nourish without stripping, all wrapped in notes of saffron, musk, and rose. Each product is a study in texture, scent, and science, delivering visible results while elevating the mundane.

Cici’s editorial instincts are evident in every detail. Clean, minimal packaging lets the formulas speak for themselves, while the brand’s storytelling – across social, press, and aesthetic practitioners – is smart, precise, and compelling. It’s a formula for virality: the industry trusts the science, consumers trust the sensorial experience, and everyone trusts the pedigree of a beauty editor who has spent years critiquing, testing, and refining.

Supernova Body
Supernova Body Founder and former Vogue beauty editor Cecile “Cici” Stefanova is serious about elevating body care to skin care status.

Her career has been a masterclass in understanding the intersection of trends, consumer insight, and content strategy. Before founding Supernova Body, Cici held senior roles at Vogue & GQ, overseeing campaigns, events, and media strategy across multiple platforms. She built business development expertise at WGSN, advising clients on emerging consumer patterns and guiding creative strategies informed by data. These experiences converged seamlessly in Supernova Body, equipping Cici with the foresight to identify an overlooked niche in luxury beauty and the know-how to execute it impeccably.

Since launching in 2024, Supernova Body has rapidly gained momentum. With three hero products and a chic PVC pouch accessory, the brand is poised to expand into major retailers across Australia and the UK in 2025. Its growth reflects a larger movement in beauty: consumers are no longer willing to relegate bodycare to a perfunctory post-shower step. They want formulas that perform, textures that delight, and rituals that matter. Supernova Body answers all three, positioning itself at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing sectors in beauty.

For Cici, the journey has been as deliberate as the products themselves. “It took four years to bring Supernova Body to life,” she says, reflecting on a process marked by research, formulation trials, and relentless testing. But that patience is visible in the results: each product embodies the intersection of editorial curation, science-led innovation, and sensory luxury. It’s skin care with a conscience and a punch – body care that finally lives up to the expectations we’ve long held for our face.

Supernova Body is more than a brand; it’s a manifesto. By elevating the body to face-care status, Cici Stefanova is redefining how we think, shop, and ritualise self-care. In a market crowded with prettily packaged lotions, Supernova Body stands apart as a brand built with expertise, credibility, and a commitment to performance that’s as sophisticated as its founder’s editorial pedigree.
