A decade on from when we first featured The Veronicas’ stunning New York loft-style apartment in one of Brisbane’s heritage-listed 1930s buildings, twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso have only deepened their legacy as two of Australia’s most enduring pop artists.

Since bursting onto the scene with their 2005 debut The Secret Life Of…, the duo has amassed multi-platinum hits, ARIA Awards, and a loyal global fanbase. In recent years, they’ve released two albums in a single year (Godzilla and Human in 2021), headlined national tours, and embraced a more independent, hands-on approach to their music and image. Their sound continues to evolve—from electro-pop anthems to raw, introspective ballads—reflecting their personal and artistic growth.

Through it all, their Brisbane home remains a grounding sanctuary. Set in a heritage-listed 1930s building, the loft-style apartment boasts 12-foot ceilings, large windows, hardwood floors, an enclosed balcony, a sunken master bedroom, and a rooftop terrace with sweeping views of the iconic Story Bridge—a fitting backdrop for two artists who’ve built a career on defying expectations while staying true to their roots.

Having grown up in Brisbane, Jess and Lisa love the feeling of coming ‘home’ after long stints touring around the world. They’ve styled their apartment as a sanctuary to relax and unwind in – although it has also seen some crazy parties along the way.

Jess says, “We’ve had some wild birthday parties, and elegant dinner parties! We also wrote and recorded a lot of our second and third album here.

“We’ve spent time focused on interior design, turning it into our bohemian creative cave. I’d describe our decorating style as temple in India meets warehouse in London.”

A true musician’s den, the apartment is decorated with vintage rock posters and houses the girls’ grandmother’s record player and piano, plus an incredible vinyl collection featuring everything from Pink Floyd and KD Lang to Aussie icons Kylie Minogue and John Farnham.

Lisa adds, “It has the charm of New York’s East Village and the convenience of inner city living. The Valley has a great music scene, night life and is a multicultural food hub.”

The ‘Australia Lives Here’ web series, hosted by presenter and stylist Jules Sebastian, gives everyday Australians a glimpse into the properties of some of their favourite celebrities, sports stars, actors, chefs, musicians and personalities. The tour of The Veronicas’ Brisbane pad follows tours through AFL couple Jimmy and Nadia Bartel’s newly built Geelong home and former NRL player Braith Anasta and his actress wife Jodi’s Sydney beachside apartment.
