Longevity Left the Wellness Aisle. Now It’s in Your Serum

Byoma Longevit-8 Peptide Serum

Longevity used to belong to the biohackers – the cold plunge crowd, the supplement stacks, the sleep tracking rings worn to bed. It’s since made its way to the bathroom cabinet. Byoma, the barrier obsessed brand that built a cult following on TikTok with a $20 moisturiser, is staking its claim on the trend with Longevit-8 Peptide Serum, launching globally and exclusively at Sephora Australia.

The premise is deliberately anti procedure. Longevity skin care has often dressed tweakments up as serum, or packed in actives so aggressive they compromise the very barrier they should protect. Longevit-8 offers a preventative alternative – something to reach for before signs of ageing show up, not after.

Byoma calls it a world first: a barrier centric longevity serum built to address eight visible markers at once, spanning elasticity, firmness, wrinkles, hydration, texture, redness and radiance. That’s an ambitious list for a single bottle, and the formula’s answer is a proprietary blend called the GHK-CU Longevity Matrix – a combination of advanced peptides, PHYTO-PDRN and NMN, layered over the brand’s signature Tri-Ceramide Complex.

NMN, short for nicotinamide mononucleotide, has spent the past few years as a fixture of longevity supplement shelves, credited (with varying degrees of evidence) for supporting cellular repair from the inside. Seeing it migrate into a topical serum is very much of the moment – a sign of how thoroughly the wellness world’s obsession with ageing well has bled into skin care’s ingredient lists.

PHYTO-PDRN, meanwhile, is skin care’s answer to polynucleotide treatments popularised by in clinic “skin boosters” – the injectables that made headlines for their plumping, regenerative claims. Its inclusion here is a fairly direct nod to prejuvenation, the industry term for treating skin early rather than correcting it later, minus the needle.

Whether a serum can truly replicate what a clinic treatment does remains the open question hanging over the entire longevity skin care category – and one worth asking of any formula making this many claims in one bottle. What’s less debatable is the direction of travel: a growing number of consumers are actively seeking preventative, barrier first alternatives to invasive treatments, and brands are racing to meet that appetite.

For Byoma specifically, the move also marks a shift up in positioning. The brand built its name on straight forward, accessible barrier repair – the kind of skin care that doesn’t ask shoppers to interpret a science degree’s worth of ingredient names. Longevit-8, with its matrix of peptides and cellular support actives, is a more technical proposition, priced at $42 to match.

Byoma Longevit-8 Peptide Serum is available now, exclusively at Sephora Australia.
