One of my friends has been faithfully sharing his vision boards on Instagram, and it motivated me to revisit mine.

A vision board is a visual representation of your ideal life and your goals. It will help to inspire you to create positive habits. It’s a great way to program your subconscious mind.

I made my first vision board on a poster-sized piece of white cardboard. The teacher provided many magazines for us to cut up and use. She showed us some examples of vision boards she’s made over the years. Then we listened to some upbeat music and started creating.

At the end of the class, it was amazing to see the different goals everyone had. An older single guy wanted to meet a lady. Some teenagers were keen to travel the world.

You can create a physical vision board on cardboard or foam board. You might like to consider creating a digital vision board using Pinterest or another image editing program like Canva or Photoshop.

Some people might like to create their vision boards as a pegged photo bunting or on a wire grid panel. You can also use old school pinboards or a scrapbook.

You’ll want to look for images that resonate with your goals. Then, you’ll want to add words, quotes, stickers, images, drawing. Google Images is perfect for looking for pictures and photos.

Vision Board Prompts:

  • What do you want your day to look like?
  • This time next year, I will be… I will have… I will feel…. I will know…
  • What’s your power word? … life motto?
  • What’s your vision statement?

It’s okay to revisit your vision board and change your personal goals. Some people like to make them at the start of the year or mid-year, but really any time is ideal.

You might like to hang your vision board up in your home office or add it to as the background of your computer desktop or make it your screensaver.

It’s amazing to look over previous vision boards and see what you’ve been able to achieve and how they can create a positive and hopeful outlook for the future.
