There is no one answer or solution. That is not just to get kids to dream big and chase after their dreams, but in this instance to drop everything and move, for 30 minutes every day, that is all we are asking. That is the starting point.

How do you move?

The way I have grown up as a kid doing so many sports and now on the elite stage as a professional surfer my day is filled with different training sessions, being in and out of the water and in the gym. I am constantly moving and I want to share  that energy and how much you can get out of life when you are active and healthy.

How does it make you feel?

When I am moving, like after a training session, there is no better feeling. You feel like you are floating you have got an abundance of energy, you radiate that positivity and I guess you can see I have the smile on my face. I love being uncomfortable and then feeling the benefits from it.

What are your top tips for staying healthy?

It is all about having fun with your food and trying different flavour combinations. Seeing what produce is out there. It is summer, we have an amazing array of summer fruits and vegetables. Make exciting salads and create that rainbow on your plate.

 Any guilty pleasures?

Crispy read apples with almond butter. It is so yummy; it is kind of like a desert.

What are your goals for 2016?

I cant wait to launch into 2016. Obviously we have the Sally Fitzgibbons Foundation today. With the Live Like Sally brand and movement, they are my inspirations to go back to training and dig deep and train as hard as I ever have and become number one in the world in surfing and obtain this world title. I will do everything I possible can and hopefully it is a successful year.

Are you competitive?

Every competitor has to have that fire in the belly, that animal instinct. You have to fight. Even when you are down or injured you come back and find away and compete with that Aussie spirit and that fire.

What are you up to for Christmas?

There is no better time than the Aussie summer. To be home and on our Aussie beaches is my favourite time of year leading through Christmas. Christmas time signifies time out. The family comes home and we’ve got backyard cricket and surfing together. You have to come home to celebrate.

Fast facts about Sally:

From small town roots in Gerringong, NSW, this fierce athlete became the youngest World Surfing Tour qualifier in history back in 2008.

She was also the youngest surfer to win an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) pro-junior title at age 14, won the first ever Australian Open of Surfing and has taken home various titles worldwide.

So what does Sally do when she isn’t training? This down to earth superstar gives back, setting her sights on tackling childhood obesity with the launch of The Sally Fitzgibbons Foundation.

This Aussie legend has already previously put her weight behind the prevention of youth binge drinking, surf safety and organ donation.

Sally practices what she preaches, she hasn’t eaten a hot chip since she was 10 years old, doesn’t drink alcohol or even have a coffee in the morning.
