“There have been times–and I feel like people have this–where you don’t even like looking in the mirror, and you just slap your moisturiser on and don’t think about it,” she told Harper’s BAZAAR UK. “But actually, taking the time to stop, and ritually clean yourself, and to take stock, is important.

“I was really lucky; my mum always drilled it into me to cleanse, tone and moisturise, wear SPF, and don’t wear too much make-up–and your skin will be good. And don’t pluck your eyebrows. Those were the basics that I was brought up with.”

Jane Lauder, Global Brand President Clinique, described Emilia as “optimistic, happy in her skin” and someone who embodies a “modern multi-faceted woman who is constantly evolving along with her skincare needs.”

Jane added: “She is also an authentic user and fan of Clinique, which was important to us.”

Introduced in 1968, Clinique is one of the leading skin care authorities in the world. All products are allergy tested and 100 % fragrance free. The brand’s customised approach and quality products – all meticulously tested and carefully formulated with the latest science.

“I am so proud to join Clinique as the new Global Brand Ambassador. It is a skincare brand I have regularly used and to now be part of that family is such an honour. I love the confidence and happiness it brings to the people using their products” . Clarke also says “Not only is Clinique timeless, but I’m proud to work with a brand that makes people feel included for who they are, and unapologetic about helping them to create great skin – no matter what their skin concern is.”
