Believe it or not, Sarah Jessica Parker wore an absolute steal this year. Her dress was from H&M, and the incredible oriental-inspired headpiece was designed by Brit designer Philip Treacy.

Gorgeous beaded gowns were seen on the red carpet as well; Kerry Washington wore one from Prada and Irina Shayk looked sexy as ever in Versace.

Some stars also played it safe this year in white gowns. Kim Kardashian showed off her curvaceous figure in a Roberto Cavalli gown, and Amanda Seyfried looked elegant in a long Givenchy dress.

A few gold dresses made its way to the red carpet unsurprisingly. Rosie Huntington-Whitely shimmied onto the red carpet in a figure-hugging Versace dress, and Anne Hatheway’s Ralph Lauren hooded number was made from actual metal fibres milled in Italy.

Both Jennifer Lopez and Allison Williams wore red, the colour of romance and passion this year to the ball.
