As winter progresses, cold-weather dressing comes into its own. Bold and directional, Witchery Woman embodies their signature aesthetic of modern, accessible luxury. Think clean, sculptural silhouettes in luxurious fabrications – a wardrobe defined by the effortless sophistication of a woman who lives by her own rules.

Building on a strong opening to the season, Witchery has curated a fresh and fashionable line-up with this freethinking muse in mind. The collection of up-to-the-minute must- haves borrows from the independent spirit and chic styling of the ‘70s, a decade of liberation and experimentation. Right now, the spotlight falls on tonal dressing, textural knits and pared-back shapes.

Far from focusing on busy detail or overly complicated design, the interest here comes via low-fuss, high-impact elements such as graphic stripes, asymmetric hemlines and intriguing texture. Quilted jacquard and tactile yarns add dimension to fashion’s key elongated looks, and something as simple as the nostalgic pairing of a roll neck and denim feels fun and new thanks to innovative treatments.

Statement-making outerwear is no less fascinating. With temperatures starting to dip outside, now is the time for shearling and fur, rendered in refined neutrals. The maxi coat, the cape and the coatigan employ generous proportions and cocooning cuts to ensure you can wrap up against the chill with ease, especially with the addition of a waist-cinching belt. Among the standout pieces, the real game-changer is a blanket wrap or poncho, the kind to throw on over masculine tailoring during the week, or jeans for the weekend.

But, of course, the look wouldn’t be complete without Witchery’s brilliant accessories. Structural handbags in rich finishes, the oversized clutch, techy totes and a strong selection of casual cross-body bags truly come into their own as the season progresses. The footwear offering is just as varied, with highlights including the boot – from block- heeled over-the-knee styles to wearable urban flats – the pointed loafer, and high top sneakers in ocelot or luxe white and black leather. This season, as always, it’s about a head-to-toe approach, and while delicate jewellery brings attention to the face, Witchery Beauty is there to the complete the effect with a glowing winter palette: deep berry, browns and shades of gold for the eyes; tints of blackberry, emerald or indigo for the nails; and sheer pinks, pops of scarlet and dark plum for the lips.

In the end, high-winter dressing comes down to comfort, style and a clear point of view. At Witchery, they’ve nailed the essentials. Now all that’s left is to make the statement.

What’s your favourite piece in the Witchery collection? Tell us how you’ll be rocking the look this winter…
