Seven Spring Cuts and Colours Worth Booking In For

Much like florals for Spring (“Revolutionary.” We know), the end of Winter has always been hair’s great reset moment – a time to trade in whatever got us through the cold for something lighter, brighter and altogether more optimistic.

This year, colourist and stylist Jaye Edwards of Edwards&Co breaks down the seven cuts and colours dominating client requests, from statement blondes to face-framing fringes.

THE COLOURS

Slavic Doll Blonde

If your blonde has felt a little too “lived-in” lately, this is the antidote. Slavic Doll Blonde is a luminous, near-porcelain shade with a soft, polished finish – think high-shine, high-impact colour rather than the low-maintenance, grown-out blondes that have dominated the last few seasons.

“Slavic doll blonde is all about a luminous, almost porcelain blonde with a soft, polished finish,” says Edwards. “We’re seeing this come through as clients lean into high-impact, statement blondes, a polished contrast to the more lived-in blondes we’ve seen dominating in recent seasons.”

Spring Hair Trends

Sunset Blonde

Warmer, softer and altogether more forgiving, Sunset Blonde layers honey, peach and gold tones for a colour that reads rich rather than flat. It’s a direct response to the icy, cool-toned blondes that have had their moment – this one is built to look sun-warmed and healthy, no toner top-ups required.

“For spring, we’re seeing a move towards warmer, softer blondes that feel healthy and effortless rather than overly cool or icy,” Edwards explains.

Spring Hair Trends

Hazel Bronde

The commitment-phobe’s dream colour. Hazel Bronde blends soft brunette with golden blonde for a naturally expensive-looking result, full of dimension without the upkeep of a full bleach job.

“It’s trending for spring because it gives you that lighter, brighter feeling without committing to a full blonde – perfect for a more low-maintenance colour,” says Edwards.

Spring Hair Trends

Apricot Copper

Copper has always been a statement, but this softer, peachier take feels considerably more wearable. Apricot Copper leans playful rather than bold, catching the light in a way that feels distinctly seasonal.

“This apricot copper brings together warm peach and copper tones for a fresh colour that feels playful without being too bright,” Edwards says. “The softer take on copper feels really fresh for spring, when clients tend to want warmer, more luminous tones that catch the light.”

THE CUTS

The Odessa A’zion-Inspired Curl

Loose, textured and deliberately undone, this curly cut prioritises movement over precision. It’s part of a wider spring shift away from overly structured styling, in favour of hair that looks like it has a little personality of its own.

“It taps into the spring shift towards hair that feels effortless and individual, with texture and movement taking priority over overly structured cuts,” Edwards notes.

Spring Hair Trends

The 90s Supermodel Side Part

Big, bouncy and unapologetically glamorous, the side part is having a full-circle moment. Think soft layers and volume that reads polished without veering into “overdone.”

“The 90s influence continues to have a huge impact on hair, and the side part brings back that glamorous, voluminous finish in a way that still feels modern,” says Edwards.

Spring Hair Trends

Feathery French Bangs

Soft, wispy and lightweight, this fringe frames the face without the commitment (or maintenance) of a heavier bang. It’s the easiest way to refresh a cut without a dramatic chop.

“They’re perfect for spring because they offer a fresh change without a dramatic haircut, softening the face while still keeping the overall look light and effortless,” Edwards says.
