Madonna’s headaches with her troubled son Rocco have escalated again with his arrest for carrying cannabis.

The Sun reports that London-based Rocco, 16, who lives with his dad Guy Ritchie, was caught with the drugs in his backpack.

Neighbours reportedly called the police after being fed up with Rocco continuously “smoking or doing drugs” in their affluent suburb.

Sources say police saw the teen sitting on a wall with a male friend. As they approached, Rocco was seen tossing something away. Officers are said to have noticed traces of cannabis on his clothes.

When they opened his bag they found a small amount of the Class B drug.

“Rocco has become a well-known figure in the neighbourhood and not for the right reasons. He’s been repeatedly seen acting suspiciously.

“This incident was the final straw. Local residents are fed up with him acting in this manner and called the police.”

Rocco Ritchie found with drugs

This time last year Rocco was caught in a bitter custody battle between mum Madonna, 58, and Guy, 48.

Things got so bad, that Rocco refused to return to Madonna’s home in New York for Christmas.

She launched legal action in the US and UK demanding her son, then 15, be returned to her.

Lawyers for Guy argued Rocco was settled in school. In March, a lawyer for Rocco said the  feud was causing him stress.

A month later, The Sun revealed photos of Rocco puffing on a suspicious-looking cigarette underneath London’s Festival Pier on the Thames.

Rocco’s relationship with his mum improved and in September Guy and Madonna agreed he would stay with Guy but spend regular time in the US.

Meanwhile, Rocco’s recent brush with the law for drugs has been dealt with by Camden Borough’s Youth Offending Team under the “Triage” youth justice scheme.

Under it, youngsters found to have committed a minor first offence are normally asked to attend a series of workshops.

He will not get a criminal record, but a file will be kept. Last month Rocco was reported to have shared an Instagram post which read: “Being the t*** of the family is a hard job. But someone’s got to do it.”

No word yet on whether this latest ‘incident’ will delay Madonna’s imminent appearance with James Corden on Carpool Karaoke.

She’s already filmed the segment but the slot has yet to be scheduled on James’s US show, The Late Late Show.
