The Courier Mail claims the divisive reality TV star, and Gold Coast mum-of-three, first met the popular Nine entertainment reporter at a telethon event in Queensland.
“From there, I would go to Sydney to see him. He gave me access to his house and I would be there in my underwear waiting for him when he got home from work,” says Suzi.
She also says that during the two-month relationship she became close with Richard’s family, including his 20-year-old son Christian.
Christian further fuelled the rumours of Suzi’s relationship with his dad by posting this Instagram shot, below, of the pair at the family home.
But the fling is believed to have unraveled after Suzi’s off-screen partying caught up with her and she went into rehab.
At her lowest ebb, Suzi collapsed on set and was also photographed dancing in a skimpy bikini on a yacht after attending Oaks Day during the Melbourne Cup racing carnival.
Her behaviour even prompted a candid on-air apology to her fellow contestants.
“Richard called me on the phone and said it [the relationship] had to stop – it really hurt me,” says the former Penthouse Pet and one-time girlfriend of INXS singer Michael Hutchence.
Suzi says she still has fond memories of Richard, who has declined to comment on the relationship.
Richard was adamant that nothing was going on and he released a statement at the time saying, “I am not romantically involved with Suzi from The Block”.
Channel Nine also released a statement denying the rumours, saying, “Richard Wilkins and Suzi Taylor are not and have never been in a relationship”.
Suzi now says she is hopeful of reconciliation with The Block producer Tim Wise, who she was also reportedly seeing during filming of the hit show.
