What it does: Lightweight, non-greasy formula moisturises where skin is dry, without leaving it oily or shiny.

Scent: Fragrance-free

Key ingredients: Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Cycotetrasiloxane, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Lysine Carboxymethyl Cysteinate, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Silica,Tocopherol, Lysine thiazolidine Carboxylate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Benzalkonium Chloride.

Why I love it: Because it’s the exact right fit for my skin. I have combination, sensitive, mid-thirties-swiftly-heading-to-middle age skin. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount on moisturisers in the last 18 months – and have become totally frustrated with all of them.

So when I stumbled on this one I expected pretty much nothing. I mean, what could a $13.99 Priceline purchase possibly have on the glycolic, hyaluronic, tricked up wonder products I’d tried so far? Turns out it had many benefits for me – no irritation, no breakouts, nothing but smooth, clear skin.

After using it for the last few weeks, I’m absolutely stoked. It leaves my skin dewy and fresh, never shiny. My makeup lasts all day, and never gets oily before lunch. I absolutely love it so I did a little digging into the formula to find out why it works…

The product uses microsponge, which is said to deliver moisture only where it needs it – aka something that balances out my skin for around four to five hours.

For anyone else curious about the ingredient list, it also has silica, which attracts and holds moisture and helps damaged skin heal faster. It has been proven in research that lotions containing small quantities of silica definitely enhance the penetration of water, oils, and collagen into the epidermis of ageing, dehydrated skin. It also helps to reduce shine and give oily skin a more matte look.

One thing to keep in mind: I’ve since tried the other formulations of this same line by Neutrogena (like the regular formula, and the sensitive skin formula, as well as those with sunscreens) and I haven’t found them exactly the same – SPF formulas can sometimes upset my skin. But the Combination Skin formula? Absolute perfection.

Hands down, the best moisturiser I have ever found, in any price range. Turns out the simple things in life are really the best.

How to use it: Use one pump and apply all over face and neck.

Price: $13.99
