The Oscars red carpet is always a mix of fun, fab and the occasional fashion risk that makes you gasp. This year was no exception. From structured peplums to feathered fantasies and perfectly paired plus ones, the 2026 red carpet gave us six standout trends that had us taking notes, screenshots, and yes, a few deep fashion sighs. Here’s the lowdown on what everyone was wearing … and how they’ve probably inspired us to DIY at home!

The Peplum Renaissance

Forget the business casual takes of a peplum top and pencil skirt. This time round the flared waist got a serious glow up. Nicole Kidman arrived in a feather-dusted Chanel with a peplum waist that was both architectural and indulgent.

Kate Hudson gave it a modern twist in a bejeweled Giorgio Armani Prive gown that made the classic shape feel fresh again. Together, they proved hourglass drama is back on top.

Floral. Black. Strapless

Florals for Spring? They actually can be revolutionary. Case in point: Rose Byrne in a black Dior embroidered with delicate flowers that whispered elegance.

Or, Anne Hathaway who kept it romantic and razor-sharp in a strapless Valentino. It was giving garden party meets gala. And, gosh, it worked.

Two Tone

Color contrast ruled. Jessie Buckley stunned in Chanel with ruby and rose hues that danced off each other.

Meanwhile Alicia Silverstone kept it classic in black and white. Two tones, twice the drama, zero confusion.

Pretty in Pastel

Pastels are officially Oscar night ready. Chase Infiniti ruffled hems (but no feathers) looking lush in lilac Louis Vuitton.

Similarly, Felicity Jones doubled down on delicate hues, in a lemony-yellow number, showing that soft shades can feel strong when styled right.

Feathers and Fringe

Feathers did not take a backseat. Demi Moore turned full peacock in an emerald-green Gucci, all movement and texture.

Teyana Taylor also brought the house down in Chanel, feathered and fringe-filled, proving Oscar glamour can be playful and bold.

A Pretty Plus One

Finally, if in doubt, pick a partner that will take your ensemble from solo special to dynamic duo. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were couple goals with Priyanka in custom Dior and Nick letting her shine.

Then Arden Cho and Charithra Chandran (stars of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters and Bridgerton respectively) arrived in complementary green gowns to owning the carpet together. Absolute perfection.
