Sarah Harris Says “I’m Giving Up On Social Media!”

TV presenter Sarah Harris says she’s going to give up on social media. But there is method behind her madness. Here she explains why she’s made the call.

I’m joining thousands of other Aussies and giving up a ‘vice’ for @FebFastAu to raise money for disadvantaged youth.

Plus I thought it’d be a great excuse to get off my phone and have a bit of a digital detox.  No gramming, no tweeting, no posting, no liking, no scrolling. For a whole month. Instead I’ll just be living in the moment for the moment. Remember what that feels like???

Those of you who know me know this is a VERY BIG DEAL.

It’s the perfect excuse to kick-start a healthier year, whilst raising funds for disadvantaged young people in Australia.

From overcoming mental health issues and the impact of abuse and neglect, to finding safe housing and tackling drug and alcohol problems, febfast funds youth workers who connect with young people experiencing disadvantage and ultimately help them stand on their own two feet.

If you’d like to sponsor me (even just a few bucks would be amazing!) click here.

If you want to sign up and give something up (booze, sugar – anything!) you still can! Go to www.febfast.org.au

My fingers are already starting to itch…

See ya on the other side!

What’s FebFast About:

Powered by Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS), febfast is the great Australian pause from alcohol, sugar or something of your choice for the month of February in support of disadvantaged young people aged 12-25 across the country.

You’ll give up alcohol, sugar or something of your choice, register to take on the challenge and raise vital funds to support disadvantaged young Australians. The money you raise funds youth workers who dedicate their time to connect young people in with the support, programs and services they require to overcome adversity and realise opportunity. When you register, we’ll not only help you stay on track throughout February, but also give you a hand to raise as much as possible from friends, family and colleagues for our partner charities.

Sarah Harris is the presenter of Game Changers.com.au. She is also a mum of two, journalist and host of Network Ten’s show, Studio 10 and Shark Tank. It takes a special mix of sass and smarts to wrangle co-hosts (and media heavyweights) Kerrie Anne Kennerley and Joe Hildebrand in front of a live studio audience every day. Sarah has both in spades; not least because she spent more than a decade on the road as a reporter, covering some of the biggest stories around the world. Before moving to Network 10, she worked at Channel Nine as the network’s go to reporter: delivering extended live coverage from Victoria’s Black Saturday bushfires, the Christchurch earthquake and Queensland’s devastating floods in 2011.
