Just a fortnight after listing her five-bedroom house in Sydney’s North Shore, the Mornings co-host Sonia Kruger has “quietly snapped up a trophy home” on the lavish Balmoral Slopes for $6.5 million.

Reports say that the home is considered a smart investment for the 50-year-old – in 2007 it was bought for $300,000 more by the current sellers.

The gorgeous five-bedroom residence boasts uninterrupted views of the water across Hunters Bay and a large, open-plan living and dining area.

It also features a self-contained apartment, with the kitchen and dining area on the first floor to capitalise on the sprawling vista.

The property, with cathedral ceilings, boasts several small balconies, as well as an al fresco eating and entertaining area, fronted by large arched windows to allow for maximum natural light.

The purchase also marks The Voice host’s triumphant return to the Mosman region.

She bought her first home there in 1999, a two-bedroom apartment for $490,000.

Sonia’s now hoping the late 2015 timing is right to secure a good price for her surplus base across town.

She’s previously admitted that the imposing North Sydney abode below had been bought at a bullish $3 million on the cusp of the global financial crisis.

“So I’ve sat here waiting for property prices to recover,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Which they have. But now I really like it. I’d love to live closer to the water, but it’s just so expensive and I can’t be bothered packing and moving.

“I’m the sort of person who is happy to make big changes in my career, but when it comes to living somewhere, I’d rather just stay. Take me out in a box.”

Sonia’s daughter Maggie, however, doesn’t sit still for a second! To see how quickly she’s growing up, check out our heart-warming story here.
