Just hours after the release of Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s free new app Kendall & Kylie, it was near the top of both the iTunes and Google Play charts.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Similar to Kim’s mega-hit app, Kim Kardashian Hollywood, Kylie and Kendall’s version is an interactive experience in which fans can create their own customised characters and interact with the famous family and their friends.
Users begin with no friends or job, just a smarphone and a modest Santa Monica apartment.
After a serendipitous meeting with Kylie, 18, and Kendall, 20, you then have to build a contacts list, reputation and embark on adventures throughout California.
Along the way, users receive messages from the Jenner sisters, who act as “friends and supporters who help you connect with the right people”.
While the game shows ads, the Jenners could also make some cash on a slew of in-app purchases, ranging from a US$1.99 “Get It Started” kit to a US$100 “premium” pack of in-game “K-Gems.”
The game is made by Glu Mobile, which also built Kim Kardashian Hollywood, as well as apps for Katy Perry and Nicky Minaj.
Looking ahead, Glu says it plans to expand it’s celebrity arsenal too.
In February 2016 it announced that it had signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Taylor Swift. The first Taylor app will launch later in 2016.
