May’s Full Flower Moon in Scorpio: An Emotional Rollercoaster Is Coming

The Full Flower Moon in Scorpio will reach its peak in the early hours of May 13th, and we could be in for an emotional “wild ride.” But with that intensity comes a potent opportunity for transformation.

This full moon won’t let us hide from the tough stuff—and there could be plenty of that.

Scorpio’s fixed water energy is all about digging deep and confronting the raw, complex layers of our emotions. Every aspect of life is on the table, including relationships, careers, and personal growth.

This lunation brings deep feelings to the surface—whether you’re ready or not. Buried truths, unresolved tensions, and even unspoken desires may bubble up, demanding attention.

While it may stir intense emotions, this full moon also offers a powerful opportunity for release. It invites us to let go of what no longer serves us. That might mean cutting ties, healing old wounds, or even just allowing yourself a good cry—or a passionate outburst—to clear the air.

All zodiac signs will feel Scorpio’s influence, but water signs (Cancer and Pisces) and fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius) are likely to experience it more intensely.

As the Full Flower Moon lights up the night sky, it invites us to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Embrace the chance to shed old patterns and step into a more authentic version of yourself.

Traditionally, the Full Flower Moon marks a time to celebrate the abundance of spring in the northern hemisphere. But in 2025, its deeper meaning offers an invitation to connect with authenticity.

The Sabian Symbol for this lunation is “a bunny metamorphosed into a fairy”. It brings softness and magic—and reminds us that true strength can emerge from vulnerability, not just grit. This is a moment to confront buried emotions and create space for personal growth.

To harness this energy, I recommend practices such as journaling, meditation, or cleansing rituals to help process emotions and support transformation.

Astrologically, May is not as busy as previous months; however, it has begun with a powerful surge of energy, marked by a Fixed T-square involving the Sun in Taurus, Mars in Leo, and Pluto in Aquarius.

With Mars in the mix forming a square, tension and intensity are heightened. Mars represents action, conflict, and sometimes frustration—so if you’re feeling extra reactive, that’s likely why.

This fiery, confrontational energy means small triggers may hit harder, and patience could wear thin. The period reflects a clash between willpower, control, and purpose.

While the Sun in Taurus seeks grounding, it may feel like you’re being pushed to grow under pressure by the forces of Pluto and Mars on either side.

Power struggles and emotional build-up are likely. The key is to stand firm without compromising your inner peace.

Be mindful of emotional impulsivity. Scorpio seeks depth, but Mars in a square can provoke action before reflection. This is energy that cuts through emotional fog—but it’s wise to pause before sending that heated message or walking out of a tense moment.

Another major shift occurs on May 25th, when Saturn transitions into Aries, beginning a new 29-year cycle.

Saturn’s role is to bring structure and realism—making this a symbolic point of no return.

Whatever seeds are planted this month will shape the foundations of the decades to come. It’s time to embrace discipline, responsibility, and the start of long-term projects. As Saturn changes signs, it will be a sensitive but highly potent period.

Pluto also begins its retrograde in Aquarius during the full moon, further amplifying themes of inner transformation and evolving power dynamics.

This is a time to trust the process—even if the full path isn’t yet clear. By surrendering to these deep currents of change, we allow ourselves to become something more authentic, empowered, and aligned.

The Full Flower Moon reaches its peak on Tuesday, May 13th, at 2:55 a.m. AEST.
