Wine, food and fresh produce from the NSW district of Orange – three things that make us foodies go weak at the knees.

Well, we’re in luck because this week all three of those things will litter the heart of Sydney’s CBD, Martin Place.

On Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd September, 2016, a fairy-light-lit marquee will be the gorgeous centrepiece of this years Taste Orange @ Sydney which will showcase some of NSW’s unbeatable cool climate wine, food and fresh produce.

Orange is fast becoming one of Australia’s most talked about food and wine destinations. With more than 80 vineyards, around 40 cellar doors and countless cafes and restaurants, Orange is a wine and foodies dream destination and this year you find out just why!

The Sydney festival will showcase over 20 of their premium cool-climate wineries and local food. Taste Orange @ Sydney is a wonderful opportunity to come and say hello to friendly wine makers and growers. You can taste their amazing produce and ask any questions you may have about that red elixir that has us foodies in a frenzy. Entry is free, and guests can purchase food and wine at the event!

On the menu this year will be some authentic country fare from Orange foodies ‘The Agrestic Grocer’. Try their Wild Mushroom, Second Mouse Feta and Porcini Salt Pie or tuck into their Venison Knuckle Sandwich with Beetroot Chips. We all know it’s quite hard to sip on wine without diving for the cheese so this year ‘The Second Mouse Cheese Company’ has us covered with their hand-crafted, locally-made cheese. Newtown’s favourite fromagerie, The Stinking Bishops will also be serving up a mean Taste of Orange Mac and Cheese.

Purchase and bring home some perfect homemade preserves from Franklin Road Preserves and then finish the day off by satisfying your sweet tooth with chocolate eclairs, doughnuts and cupcakes from Chateau du Chocolat.

Although entry is free and you are welcome to wander, you can also jump the queues and dive straight into your wine and food tasting experience by pre-purchasing a Taste Orange @ Sydney Wine Tasting Pack. The offer includes 10 wine tasting tickets and a free wine glass to use throughout the event for just $40.

So.. will you join us for a vino? See you there!
