Empress Serum contains a rich plant extract from the Orchid family once used by Chinese royalty as an anti-ageing beauty product and for its ability to soften, smoothen, and give an amazing glow to your skin.

The Serum, which hails from China, contains an extract from the Dendrobium Candidum plant. The Chinese consider Dendrobium as one of the premium herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is known for its anti-ageing effects on the skin and its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

It’s English name, “Dendrobium” comes from the Greek words “dendros” (tree) and “bios” (life) which means “tree of life.”

The plant grows primarily on cliff faces on mountains in China, Tibet and other parts of Asia. Legend has it that the tree of life gets its all-mighty properties from the need to cling off the cliff face for survival, and because its water nourishment is the mountain mist.

Given its location, collecting Dendrobium is particularly difficult to harvest and as a result only limited quantities of the Empress Serum could be produced.

In the last 20 years, Mr. Zhang, the owner of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in China, came up with a solution to help increase production of this plant. He figured that if he could simulate the same conditions present in the cliff face. In a mountain based in Xiamen, China, he built an incubator for the Dendrobium Candidum seedlings. He wrapped about five hessian bags around each tree and planted the seedlings inside each bag filled with soil. As the plants grow, they droop from the hessian bags and cling to the tree just like the way they do on the cliff face. Mr. Zhang also simulated the mountain mist through an ingenious watering system which sprays a mist into the treetops.

What’s in the serum?

The Empress Serum is made up of Dendrobium Candidum extract, olea erupaea oil, rosa rugosa flower oil, polydimethylsiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Panax ginseng extract, tocopherol (Vitamin E).

These ingredients work together to bring elasticity back to the skin. Within just a few weeks of regular use, you can already feel a renewed softness to your skin. All you need is a few drops massaged into your cleansed skin once or twice a day.

The serum dramatically reduces the size of large unsightly pores. It brings back a glow of freshness to the areas on where the product is used.
