Bonjour Bright Eyes! Trends To Try From Paris Fashion Week

Beréts, Breton stripes and…Bright eye-makeup? That’s not what we were expecting as the stand-out trend at the 2016 Paris fashion week.

But we say ‘Au Revoir’ to the fresh-no-makeup faces we associate with Parisian women and say ‘Bonjour’ to the bold and bright eye make-up trends that cruised their way onto the Parisian Runways.

It’s time to embrace the bold, bright and even garish colours when it comes to applying your eye-makeup. Thanks to some well-known make-up artists such as Lynsey Alexander we have been given some serious make-up inspo for SS17. Put away your black and brown eye-colours and make space for some fabulously daring shades you need to add to your eye palette.

Haider Ackermann – Canary Yellow

Bright eyes

Make-up artist Lynsey Alexander created this look for the Haider Ackermann show and it was truly fearless. We love her avant-garde use of angular bright-white and canary-yellow lines around the eyes. You can re-create the look yourself with make-up from MAC. Be a beautiful bird of paradise with this extravagant look.

Kenzo and the rocking red

It really was a red alert in the make-up department for Kenzo. In true French style, the make-up on the Kenzo models was show-stopping yet still had a laissez-faire flair about it. Their bold cheeks were beautifully blended in with their eye-shadow leaving us to wonder whether the make-up artist had just gone overboard with the blush or in fact we were being introduced to a revolutionary new look. A fluid blend of colour between the cheek and eyes. Is this the trend to take over strobing and contouring?

Fatima Lopes showed us that blue really is the coolest colour

The make-up artists really were loving the strong eye-lines at this year’s Paris Fashion Week. We love the use of electric blue Ziggy Stardust-esque eyeliner. In fact, add Fatima Lopes’ make-up to Kenzo’s and we’re halfway there to the iconic look of Bowies alter ego .
