Since creating the now coveted BB cream some years ago, Korean beauty has gone gangbusters. Scientifically savvy, reasonably priced and with its fun, kitsch aesthetic; K-Beauty (for the uninformed) is taking the world by glamorous storm, one egg and snail treatment at a time.

We have plucked our favourite five to prep, preen and primp your skin. Get ready to be a K-Beauty convert with these completely kooky, but effective beauty offerings.

Panda Eyes

Could these eye masks be any cuter? An eye patch usually means you are hiding something, but these little Panda’s Dream Eye Patches will give you eyes you want to show off. Drenched in bamboo extract and Vitamin B3 serum, these masks soothe, brighten and reduce redness and dark circles. And the best part? They actually look like little Pandas, designed to give you adorbale panda eyes when applied. Cue sigh.

Sunny Side Up

Whilst we love a poachie with avocado for Sunday brunch, the humble egg is also perfect for you pores. Yes, the Koreans have taken literal meaning to having egg on your face. They say yolk extract and albumen actually remove sebum and dead skin cells, leaving you with firm and exfoliated skin. This little clever goog by Tony Moly is a self-heating balm targeted for blackheads that removes dirt and oil within minutes. We’ll have our eggs sunny side up.

Nailed It

Ok, like, we are totes obsessed with these #OOTD Hollywood Valley Girl Nail Art. With over 100 to choose from, nail La La Land (literally) with these super cute nail decals. Create a delicious, but oh-so calorific nail menu, spice up your spirit fingers with all-American sayings, or make up your mani with Mattel’s Queen and King, Barbie and Ken. Doll, these will jazz up any ol’ outfit. Batteries not included.

Snail Trail

Whilst the French eat escargots, the Koreans put them on their face, well, sort of. The slime that snails create actually prevents and repairs the damage incurred on their soft bodies from slithering over rough surfaces, like rocks and twigs. This has been translated to face, by way of the clever Koreans. This MISSHA Cell Renew Snail Cream is a superhero in the skincare world, containing 70% snail mucin extract as its star ingredient, which supports natural cell regeneration and replenishes moisture to increase firmness in skin. Slither over our way.

Gettin’ Cushy

One of these IOPE Air Cushion Compacts is sold every six seconds in Korea, so it’s time for us to promptly add to cart. This cult fave foundation is a miraculous multi-tasker; providing sun protection (SPF 50+/PA+++), evening skin tone, and covering up naughty pimples with its medium coverage formula. Boasting Vitamin B5, Vitamin E derivatives, Vitamin P, as well as mineral water, it hydrates and nourishes the skin too. With its sponge-well of foundation and its super cushy pad, this spongey goodness is easy-peasy; dab and puff away for a perfect base!
