Lucas Callaghan and Adam McDonald
Lucas Callaghan lives and breathes the industry. To fellow Aussie’s he’s known as one of the country’s most influential pickers. Specialising in ‘unique objects from the post-war period’ Lucas finds and then restores items to their former glory. Renowned auctioneer Andrew Shapiro describes Lucas’ collection as “one of the more eccentric design collections he's seen, spanning four or five decades.”
Lucas’ love for treasure can also be enjoyed by the public at his Modern2Vintage store in Paddington, Sydney.
In his former life Adam McDonald was a Bricklayer and hip hop MC, until he came to his senses, offering to help his mate at an Auction house. Since then he’s never looked back and after 10 years working as an auctioneer, there’s nothing he hasn’t sold. Adam sells over 250 items weekly, his most profitable pick was a $3 bus conductor’s ticket book he sold for $2,750.
Adam has a diverse understanding of collectables and his passion is for ‘Industrial Antiques’ (or ‘Mantiques’ as he likes to call them), together he and Lucas are a match made in picking heaven!
